Capcom's courtroom collection has reached a major sales milestone, but fans are still waiting for news of a new game.
Capcom revealed that the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy has surpassed five million copies sold worldwide since its 2019 launch on current hardware. Polygon reported that this sales figure was shared on the social media platform Bluesky in anticipation of the series turning twenty-five years old on October 12.
Along with the sales milestone, the company published investor data indicating that the entire franchise has moved more than fifteen million units. Artists Kazuya Nuri and Takuro Fuse also produced fresh promotional illustrations to commemorate both the quarter-century mark and the recent sales achievement.
Franchise Sales And Series History
While these numbers lag behind massive Capcom properties like Monster Hunter: World or the Resident Evil 2 remake, the total remains a solid accomplishment for a specialized genre of courtroom visual novels. The franchise maintains a dedicated fan base, and the developer has kept players engaged recently by porting nearly the entire catalog to modern platforms.
Despite this ongoing support, the publisher has not announced any upcoming entries in the series, leaving the future of the franchise uncertain. The most recent release available in Western regions was The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles in 2021, though that title consisted of updated versions of two historical spinoffs that originally debuted in Japan during the mid-2010s.

For players hoping to follow primary characters like Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, or Miles Edgeworth, the last true mainline installment was Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, which launched on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. North American audiences have now gone over ten years without a brand-new entry featuring these core protagonists.
