Apple Launches Siri Settlement Website For iPhone Owners

A settlement website has officially launched following Apple's agreement to pay $250 million to resolve a U.S. class-action lawsuit. According to MacRumors, the legal action stemmed from the delayed rollout of upgraded Siri artificial intelligence capabilities that Apple had previously showcased.

Apple previewed the new Siri features back in June 2024, demonstrating capabilities like deeper app controls, on-screen awareness, and personal context understanding. These functions were heavily marketed across product presentations, the company website, and a television commercial featuring actor Bella Ramsey. However, the personalized Siri version was delayed in March 2025, which prompted the false advertising lawsuit.

Claim Details and Payouts

To qualify for compensation, individuals must live in the United States and have bought a qualifying iPhone model in the country between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, strictly for personal use rather than resale. Apple denies all allegations made in the litigation and agreed to settle primarily to avoid the expenses and risks associated with a trial, while remaining focused on delivering innovative products.

Eligible buyers are expected to receive about $25 per qualifying iPhone device. Depending on how many valid claims are ultimately filed, the actual amount per person could shift, with a maximum cap set at $95. Submissions open on September 21 and run through December 21 of this year.

Submitting a Claim

Customers who qualify should receive an email over the next few days containing a unique claim ID and PIN code. The online portal also permits users to file a claim without these specific identifiers if necessary.

The application requires personal details and the serial number of the qualifying handset. If the serial number is unavailable, the form accepts the phone number and the associated Apple Account email address instead.

A final approval hearing is currently placed on the calendar for February 24, 2027. Consequently, financial distributions are not anticipated to begin until sometime next year. The portal also provides details regarding how users can opt out of the settlement entirely.
