Canceled Zelda Spin-Off from Ubisoft Starred Ganondorf, Report Claims
Ubisoft Milan was reportedly developing a canceled Zelda title focused on series antagonist Ganondorf.

Ubisoft was once developing an unannouncedThe Legend of Zelda project centered on the villain Ganondorf before the title was canceled, according to reporting highlighted by GameSpot.
Instead of building the spin-off in-house, Nintendo had entrusted development duties to an outside studio. An Insider Gaming report published on September 24 revealed that Ubisoft Milan served as the team leading production on the title.
An External Studio on Villain Duty
Nintendo rarely hands its major intellectual properties to third-party partners. While the Japanese publisher usually keeps core adventures within its own studios, this project would have marked an unusual departure by placing the primary antagonist at the heart of the experience.
The details indicate that the spin-off carried an internal code name during its time at Ubisoft Milan, though production was ultimately halted before the project could see an official reveal.
What the Scrapped Game Means
For players, the cancellation leaves Ganondorf's perspective unexplored in a dedicated release. Enthusiasts of the franchise have received numerous mainline entries and remakes, yet an action or adventure title driven by the antagonist remains a rarity in the series catalog.
With the project shelved, it is unclear whether Nintendo will revisit the concept of an antagonist-led adventure in the future, or if any ideas from the discarded Milan prototype will ever resurface.
