Huawei has officially confirmed that its upcoming Mate 90 series will launch in China on October 1. Ahead of this scheduled debut, details regarding the hardware and design of the upcoming devices have emerged through a series of early reports.
According to GSMArena, a post on Weibo by tipster Digital Chat Station has outlined the core specifications for all four expected models in the new lineup. The leaks point to varying processors, screen sizes, and camera configurations across the range.
Processor and Display Details
The leak details specific processor choices for each variant in the series. The standard Mate 90 is reported to run on a Kirin 9030 chip, while the Mate 90 Pro is said to feature a Kirin 9035 system-on-chip paired with a 6.75-inch dual-layer OLED display.
Moving up the product stack, the Mate 90 Pro Max and the Mate 90 RS will reportedly utilize the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset. The Pro Max model is tipped to include a larger 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED screen.
Camera Capabilities and Design
The higher-end models in the new series bring notable camera hardware. The Mate 90 Pro Max is reported to include a main rear camera offering 18EV of dynamic range alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. A Collector’s Edition configuration is also noted as supporting a 1-inch 10x zoom lens.
The Mate 90 RS shares the core specifications of the Pro Max version but adopts a high-gloss titanium unibody build. Previous leaks indicate the RS variant will be offered in three color choices: White, Black, and Red.
Official confirmation on these specifications and any potential global availability will arrive when Huawei holds its launch event in China in just a few days.
