Apple's 20th-anniversary smartphone range could arrive with bigger screens than the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro versions, according to recent information. A leak originating on Weibo suggests that the future hardware will push physical dimensions up slightly across both flagship tiers.

MacRumors shared the details from source Digital Chat Station, indicating that screen sizes and resolutions are set for minor upward adjustments. The smaller model will reportedly feature a 6.41-inch display running at 2,686 by 1,236 pixels. Meanwhile, the larger variant is said to measure 6.96 inches with a 2,912 by 1,340 pixel resolution.

Comparing Display Metrics

For context, the current iPhone 18 Pro models use 6.27-inch and 6.86-inch panels. These measurements treat the devices as standard rectangles, though actual viewable areas shrink slightly due to corner rounding. Pixel density is expected to remain steady at approximately 460 pixels per inch, given that the resolution bumps match the physical growth.

Apple previously expanded its pro display sizes back in 2024 with the iPhone 16 Pro generation. That transition moved screens from 6.1 to 6.3 inches and from 6.7 to 6.9 inches by shrinking bezels and widening the chassis. The new leak points to another modest step forward in overall screen dimensions.

Design Changes and Front Camera Hurdles

Beyond basic measurements, the source points to experimental testing of a borderless quad-curved layout. This approach would make the device look like a continuous sheet of glass while concealing metal side frames. Bloomberg previously noted that work on these anniversary units began ramping up earlier this year.

Hardware developers are also exploring thinner OLED panels, under-display biometric sensors, and reduced cutout designs. Technical hurdles regarding camera concealment and image quality continue to complicate complete under-screen integration.
