Samsung Unveils Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+ for October Release
Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+, launching October 7 with updated chipsets, large displays, and bundled creative tools.

Samsung has officially introduced its newest flagship tablet hardware, announcing the upcoming launch of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+. As reported by TheElec, both devices are scheduled to arrive in stores on October 7 across multiple global territories, including the United States, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, and India. Buyers will have choices between Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity across both models, each finished in either gray or silver.
The larger Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is built around a 14.6-inch panel while maintaining an ultra-thin profile measuring 5.1 millimeters thick. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12+ features a 12.6-inch screen, representing a modest diagonal increase over the 12.4-inch display found on the earlier Tab S10+. Both slates utilize Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology capable of reaching 1,600 nits at maximum brightness, include four-channel sound output, and bundle an S Pen stylus in the package.
Cooling, Processing Power, and Battery Life
Internal hardware sees a notable performance jump on the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra relative to the previous Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Samsung's newest processor configuration yields an estimated 19 percent improvement in central processor capability, a 17 percent lift in graphics rendering, and a 61 percent boost in neural processing unit power. To manage heat during demanding workloads, the tablet incorporates a three-dimensional vapor chamber cooling setup.
Battery endurance is rated for lengthy sessions, running for as long as 23 hours during video playback on the Tab S12 Ultra, while the Tab S12+ delivers a maximum of 21 hours under identical conditions. In terms of recharging, both entries support 45-watt wired speeds, allowing an empty battery to achieve a full charge in roughly 95 minutes.
Multitasking Software and Bundled Creative Apps
The tablets launch with Android 17 under Samsung's One UI 9 interface. Multi Window functionality allows users to divide the display into three separate sections, making it possible to stream video, write notes, and engage with artificial intelligence tools all at once. The onboard Note Assist feature can also automatically generate summaries from handwritten text.
The Galaxy Tab S12 family is also the first group of Android tablets to include Adobe Photoshop straight out of the box. Its drawing and photo-editing interface is tailored specifically around the tablet display and stylus input, and buyers receive four months of free access to Photoshop Mobile Premium. Samsung is also bundling a complimentary six-month subscription to Google AI Pro, alongside verified compatibility for third-party creative applications such as Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, Clip Studio Paint, and Notability.
To support buyers over the long term, Samsung has committed to providing as many as seven generational OS upgrades alongside security maintenance releases over the lifecycle of the devices.
